This article presents an improved reading and a new interpretation of a recently published inscription on a small altar, likely dating from the 2nd century, which was discovered a few years ago during renovation work on the thermal springs in Baden, Aargau (Switzerland). According to the new reading, a surveyor (librator) from the Legio XXII Primigenia, stationed in Mainz, fulfilled a vow he had made to the Aquae Divinae.
