Abstract

The Nicuria decree (IG XII.7 506) records the decisions of representatives of the islanders at Samos about their involvement in sacrifices and games which Ptolemy II was arranging in honour of his father in Alexandria. The article tries to show that the dating of this inscription to the year 282 is to prioritize to the year 281.
