Abstract

An inscription of 10 lines is inscribed on the fragment of a former bronze tripod leg. The letters, which can be dated to the last quarter of the 6th century BC, and the dialect are Elean. Some termini technici on land division and cultivating show the agricultural content of the inscription. Any relation to Zeus or Olympia is missing. No institution is mentioned except a collegium of “The Nine Men”.
