Abstract

Edition of two rent receipts from the Philadelphian archive of Asoeis and Atammon (252-258 CE). The documents revolve around a large estate of public land in the hands of an Alexandrian magistrate, which is a key marker of the changing nature of land tenure in third century Egypt.
