A stone found in 2011 at Novae contains two inscriptions (one in Greek, die other one is not recognisable) and seems to have been the base of a statue. The inscription was authored by two primipilarii, which were in the time of the erection of the monument (366 or 399/400) civilian officials employed by provincial governors and were responsible for supplying the legionaries stationing on the limes (pastus primipili or pastus militum). A list of dedications by primipilarii from Oescus and Novae is enclosed.
